We noticed with anxiety that the official document – HORIZON 2020 Work Programme 2014-2015 seems to deal only with exotic nuclei and extreme condition matter, cutting out PANDA and JLab physics (spectroscopy, nucleo structure ..). This is something we need to investigate in more details consulting Carlo Guaraldo, Ulrich Wiedner and other members of the nuclear physics community (eg Angela Bracco as chairman of NUPECC, Guenther Rosner ...)

  • The working groups definition: Jim, could you please confirm that the PANDA representatives are:

- Diego Bettoni, joining Raffaella De Vita on spectroscopy
- Frank Mass, joining Keith Griffioen on nucleon structure
- Lars Schmitt, joining Latifa Elouadrhiri for equipment and instrumentation
- Klaus Goetz joining Adam Szczepaniak on analysis framework
I'll coordinate the work.

  • we decided to have the two-pages documents written by each group within November 1st, circulate it and then have a presentation of the working group outcome at the next CLAS collaboration meeting (in November at JLab) and at next PANDA collaboratione meeting (in December at GSI).

We will set up a joint meeting in a year from now. One option would be to have a first small meeting in ETC*-Trento in spring, limited to the working group members and few other participants, and one big meeting that involves the two collaboration next September in Frascati (satellite of 2014 PANDA collaboration meeting).

  • We all agreed that the HPH proposal should go in parallel (and independently of the activity of JLab-Panda working group.
